David is an Architect that specialises in working in conservation areas and with heritage based projects. A listed building specialist and planning expert, his process emphasises understanding of a site and clients’ requirements. Based in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath, David works with historic environments regularly; developing designs that enhance, preserve and safeguard a place’s continued use and character.

His track record of a 100% success rate in obtaining planning permissions and listed building consents since 2016 is unique within the local area. This planning-led approach identifies targets key values, opportunities and risks, helping to bring clarity to a project at an early stage.

He is registered with the Architects Registration Board (ARB); the independent professional body that regulates all Architects' conduct in the UK. He is also a chartered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and a member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings (SPAB).

Since starting the practice in 2016, David has built a reputation providing trusted professional advice, supported by knowledge gained through practical onsite work on construction sites, prior to becoming an Architect. He continues to be involved in building his own projects today and enjoys good working relationships with contractors, specialist crafts-people and Local Authorities.

David has been working in the Bath and North East Somerset area for 10 years and has previously been employed at a number of award winning architecture and landscape architecture offices. This time has helped him to develop a professional adaptability and a value-led approach to his service.

David is an alumni of the Edinburgh College of Art, has exhibited work in a Covent Garden gallery as part of the London Festival of Architecture and was involved in the BBC series the ‘The House That 100k Built.’ He’s contributed to the 100% design fair in London and even built an igloo.

Clients include private homeowners, founders, CEOs, internationally based clients, professional sports persons, local business, developers, community groups and builders.

Industry interests include architectural lighting, pattern and traditional building techniques.
